Flexible Messaging – Adapt
If operators wish to create new services, or to add additional routing logic, then they can do this using the open API provided by the Adapt module. Adapt is an optional module that complements the routing functionality provided by
Traffic Control. Adapt provides application developers with the ability to access and dictate routing decisions made by traffic control, and with the ability to modify and enhance the content of the message payload.
Adapt is protocol and feature rich
Adapt complies with all major telecommunications industry protocols and next generation mobile networks including: SMS (MAP, SMPP, OIS, CMID, UCP); MMS (MM1, MM3, MM4, MM7); IMS (ISC, SIP SIMPLE); SIGTRAN (SUA, M3UA, SCTP).
Adapt features: Triggered Visibility and Control where Adapt provides 100% visibility and control over any messaging data that is intercepted or routed through the network via its triggered application interfaces; A registered Adapt application can gain control over all request and response PDUs at all stages in the lifecycle of an in-flight message, and can do so for many underlying technologies without requiring specific domain knowledge of the protocol; Applications accessing the message flow are assigned a priority by Adapt so that message distribution, and therefore message control is deterministic. Adapt allows flexible configuration of the prioritised order in which applications are passed a message – and the way applications are informed of the outcome of a message termination.; Multiple Application Interfaces exist as the Adapt API is complaint with J2EE, JEE5 and IBM’s WebSphere. Operators who have adopted these standards throughout their network can expose message flows to their application providers via the standard interface; Adapt can provision application specific data to filter incoming network messages so the application only receives messages it has an interest in; Bearer Protocol Independence as Adapt delivers messages up to applications irrespective of the underlying protocol used.
Mobile Operators
Openmind Networks, headquartered in Dublin, Ireland and with sales and support offices in Prague, Dubai and Stuttgart is the emerging leader in Next Generation Messaging Systems. Our flagship product, Traffic Control, with a suite of product extensions (Profile, Protect and Adapt), is a multi-protocol messaging router supporting SMS, MMS, IM and IMS.
Message volumes are still growing but revenues are flat or declining. Adding services
to retain and attract new customers is complex, slow and expensive.
As a result mobile operators: Are facing increasing operational costs through both existing and new messaging platforms; can compete only on price bundles without new revenue generating services; are facing the threat of spam and scam attacks on their customers; are constrained by the lack of innovation from incumbent vendors; are finding succession planning for next generation networks to be very complex.
