The world is changing rapidly around us with innovations in every industry. None has changed more than the software industry that is applying itself to solve very large and real problems in many areas including cancer patient care through machine learning. Software is moving from the digital/virtual world to the real world with the Internet of Things (IOT) becoming deployed in cars, homes and industry. Mr Alex Duncan, CEO/Co-Founder of Openmind Networks, will discuss his vision of the IOT and how software is eating the world. In particular, he will look to how these are shaping the world we live in and how they will shape our worlds over the next 10 years. Openmind has been a leading innovator in the Telecoms world, specifically in chat and telecoms messaging systems and has looked into the future of software industry to understand the impact that the IOT and machine learning will have on telecoms messaging environments. Co-founder and CEO of Openmind since 2003 Alex Duncan has led the business through significant changes from a zero revenue base to a multi-million dollar global enterprise with telecommunication customers in all parts of the world. Alex holds two Trinity College Dublin Degrees; a Master’s Degree in International Business together with Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering. Alex loves Dublin GAA and is a mentor in this year’s Feile Football team in Skerries Harps.
